NewsFlash - Welcome to The Stables Horse Activity Centre.
Welcome!

The Stables Horse Activity Centre was founded in 1994 by William Marshall who had a vision of running a fully integrated riding centre for all abilities, irrespective of their emotional or physical needs.
We are a registered charity and don't receive any government funding, relying on income from our weekday sessions, riding lessons and fund raising activities in order to keep the centre running.
The centre is open to everyone in the community and welcomes individuals and groups. Riding horses is an excellent way of giving people with all abilities and disabilities an opportunity to achieve a sense of independence and freedom.

Our difference
We don’t just offer lessons but provide an environment where people with learning disabilities can spend time caring for horses and thereby gaining confidence from the special interactions, for example – watering, feeding and mucking out with the support of our team.

The Stables Covid-19 News!

Since the Government announcement regarding the lifting of restrictions, we have been reviewing our procedures. The Stables is committed to keeping all our clients, staff and volunteers safe and the increase in national cases is a concern.

After a lot of thought and consideration we have decided that for now, we will continue with the majority of measures we have in place. We will continue to:

  • Take your temperature upon arrival.
  • Disinfect all tack and helmets between lessons.
  • Maintain social distancing of 1 metre for spectators.
  • Our lead rein volunteers will continue to use masks if they are in close contact with you (for example helping you mount), but at other times when they are more than 1 metre away, they may personally chose to remove their masks.

We understand that people have differing opinions regarding the use of masks, but we would still encourage you to use them if you are in an enclosed area at The Stables for example the office.

We will no longer take the details of all attendees to the yard, but would encourage you to use the Track and Trace app to record your visit to the Stables.

If you test positive for Covid after attending the Stables you must advise us so that we can contact the other riders in your group.

We will review our policy at the end of August.

We hope you all keep safe and well.
